Kingdom of Tekrour

In the Senegal River valley, a people built one of the first organised kingdoms in West Africa. This kingdom was called Takrur. Its inhabitants worked iron, grew cotton and traded the gold of Bambuk with the caravans of the Sahara. It was already a world of merchants and builders.
