SONES — drinking water for all
1995 · Dakar
In 1995, a major reform reorganised Senegal's water service: SONES was created to manage the infrastructure, alongside SDE for distribution and ONAS for sanitation. Thanks to this model, praised across Africa, drinking water reached a growing number of homes, neighbourhoods and towns. Taps, standpipes and new networks transformed the daily life, health and hygiene of millions of Senegalese.
