SENELEC — electricity for Senegal

1983 · Dakar

Created in 1983 by merging the country's electricity companies, SENELEC became the national utility for producing, transmitting and distributing power. Gradually, electricity reached the cities and then the countryside: street lighting, fridges, televisions, workshops and schools came to life. Despite sometimes difficult outages, SENELEC accompanied the modernisation of daily life and the development of the whole country.
