Digane — holy city of the Qadiriyya

On the advice of his master Cheikh Saad Bouh, Cheikh Mamadou Aly Sow settled in Digane, in the Mbacké department, and founded there a centre of the Qadiriyya brotherhood. He instituted an annual celebration of the birth of the Prophet. Digane became the main hub of the Qadiriyya in this region of Senegal.
