The Senegambia Bridge — opening up Casamance
2019 · Farafenni (fleuve Gambie)
Inaugurated in January 2019, the Senegambia Bridge spans the Gambia River near Farafenni. Nearly two kilometres long, it is one of the largest bridges in West Africa. For decades, linking Dakar to Casamance required a long ferry crossing and endless waits. The bridge erased this natural barrier: goods, travellers and families can finally move freely between the north and south of Senegal.
