Y'en a marre movement
2011–2012 · Dakar
In January 2011, Senegalese rappers and activists founded the Y'en a marre movement to mobilise young people to engage in civic life. When President Wade tried to amend the Constitution to seek a third term, Y'en a marre organised demonstrations. This mobilisation contributed to the democratic transition of 2012.
