The Great Green Wall

2007 · Nord Sénégal

In 2007, eleven African countries including Senegal launched the Great Green Wall — an 8,000-kilometre reforestation project crossing the continent from Dakar to Djibouti to hold back the desert. Thousands of hectares have already been replanted in northern Senegal. It is one of Africa's largest environmental projects.
