janv. 1974 · Le Caire (Égypte)
In January 1974, UNESCO held in Cairo a great symposium on the origins of Egyptian civilisation. The Senegalese scholar Cheikh Anta Diop and his Cameroonian colleague Théophile Obenga presented scientific arguments to demonstrate that ancient Egypt was an African civilisation. UNESCO's final report acknowledged the value of their work.
