The birth of Senegalese television

On 26 August 1972, thousands of Senegalese discovered television for the first time, during the opening of the Munich Olympic Games. Born from an educational pilot project run with UNESCO since 1965, national television — soon organised within ORTS, the future RTS — gradually entered people's homes. The television news appeared in September 1972. Image by image, a new bond began to unite the whole country.
